Do I need a physician's referral or script?

No, a prescription or referral is not needed. You can call and schedule an appointment today. All states permit "Direct Access", which means in Colorado, you do not need to wait to see you physician prior to starting physical therapy. If your therapist believes you need the attention of a medical doctor, you will be referred to one. Your physical therapist will collaborate with your physician and other healthcare providers with your consent to help you reach your goals.

Physical therapists are well equipped to identify and treat a vast variety of conditions without the use of imaging. Your therapist will do a thorough evaluation to assess your specific impairments and devise a individualized treatment plan to get you moving well again.

What should I wear? What should I expect from my sessions?

Wear loose fitting clothing that allows your physical therapist to examine and treat your body. Shorts for conditions of the back and lower extremity and tank tops for conditions of the neck and upper extremity.

Your first day of physical therapy, you will have a thorough evaluation which will determine your personalized treatment plan. You will be educated in ways to guide and empower you towards attaining your goals. It is difficult to predict the exact number of treatments you will need because every individual is unique. Typically, clients are seen 1 time a week for 4-8 weeks. Follow up treatments involve hands-on manual treatment and review or modification of your home exercise program.

Dry needling is a technique physical therapists use (where allowed by state law) to treat myofascial pain. The technique uses a “dry” needle, one without medication or injection, inserted through the skin into areas of the muscle, known as trigger points.

Reimbursement is between you and your insurance provider. The Movement Pro, LLC is a cash-based practice and does not work directly with insurance companies. We will provide you with an receipt that you may submit to your insurance but we do not guarantee reimbursement. However, if pre-authorization is required, we will gladly perform the necessary paperwork.
